Small sandwich shop on the High Street across Ryman's. Surprisingly fresh baguettes, still some crispness to the crust even by late afternoon. The baguettes are a nice size (about length of your forearm), fillings are a bit meager but you only pay about £3/baguette so it's very reasonable. Plenty of choices or customise your own; fresh salad toppings to go in every sandwich (cucumber, tomato, lettuce, red onion). Very nice option if you want a light lunch that doesn't weigh you down. I could easily eat a whole baguette or more in one sitting.

SPACE// Small deli counter. Displays for crisps and drinks. Takeaway only, but there are public benches right outside if you want to sit and eat. -

Famed for their 81 varieties of sarnie, this baguette shop is run by an ex chef and it shows in the quality of their food. Expect to pay about 3 quid for any filling you could want - they have everything from classic ham and cheese to their deliciously exotic thai chicken. Look out for the daily special - it's a bit cheaper and usually a tasty combo you wouldn't have thought of!
